Okay, this is a very simple recipe for flavored margarita. Here is the deal, you can make a margarita any flavor you want! If you want to make a flavored margarita for which you do not have the liqueur for, then just add in the flavored juice you want and keep the triple sec from the basic margarita recipe. Put in twice as much juice as triple sec.
Ingredients:
Tequila (blanco, 100% blue agave plant)
Orange liqueur (cointreau or triple sec)
sweet ‘n sour mix
Ratio 3:2:2
This is a typical margarita recipe – though not traditional! I do have a recipe for traditional margaritas on this site. This is sweeter than the traditional recipe, which uses fresh lime juice instead of sweet ‘n sour mix.
Shake and strain into glass lined with kosher salt (optional)
Ingredients:
Tequila (choose a silver/blanco, 100% aged blue agave)
Orange Liqueur (cointreau)
Fresh Lime Juice
Ratio 3:2:1
Shake and strain into a glass (rimmed with kosher salt if preferred)
See my tips page for more information on how to pick out the liqueur and tequila.
This is a very traditional margarita, and not very sweet at all. Good tequila is key to making this recipe taste good
